No matter how insanely hot or cold (not that that ever happens around here) it gets in the RGV, there’s no denying the fact that for some of us, we NEED our coffee anyway. If you often hear something along the lines of, “OMG you’re drinking a hot/iced coffee in this weather?!” then I’d like you to know that you are definitely not alone.

Other than giving us that extra kick when the mid-day snoozefest strikes, for us coffee fanatics, life just wouldn’t be the same without that delicious soy iced coffee with an extra shot. You’re really thinking about it right now, aren’t you?

Whether you’re a Starbucks addict or a DIY coffee lover, it’s time to experiment a little and raise your mug to all the homegrown coffeehouse gems the RGV has to offer.

For a true coffee fiend, there’s nothing more life-changing than a cup (or glass) of artisan brewed coffee. Next time you’re tempted to wait 20 minutes in line for a Frappuccino, stop what you’re doing and give one of the best coffee destinations in the RGV a try—you won’t regret it.

In no particular order (because let’s face it, that would be an impossible task), here are the top 3 coffee hot spots to test out this summer:
