The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is thrilled to welcome photographer Mark Roddenberry on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Roddenberry will be present to talk about his current exhibition on display at IMAS, “Avenue of the Strongest: An Eyewitness Account of that Day in September”. The event is open to the public and members of the museum.
Originally displayed on September 11, 2005, Roddenberry’s “Avenue of the Strongest” returns to IMAS on its 10th anniversary. The series of photographs gets its name from a street in lower Manhattan, located approximately one mile north of the World Trade Center. The photographs reflect one of the nation’s greatest catastrophes and our country’s heroic response to the tragedy on September 11, 2001. Roddenberry will tell his account of photographing during and two days after the events of 9/11.
The presentation will take place as part of the museum’s Family Fun Night program. General admission is FREE for IMAS Members and $1 per person every Thursday evening from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. “Avenue of the Strongest” is part of the IMAS Permanent Collection and was a gift from Texas State Bank. The exhibit will be on display until Sunday, October 25th. For more information, please contact IMAS at 956.682.0123 or visit www.imasonline.org.
